Udo was born in Latvia and Lidia, his bride, was born in Moscow. They met while attending a music college in Odessa, Ukraine. They have two daughters, Solvita and Stella. Solvita is happily married and active in her local church in Orlando, Florida. Stella is a piano teacher and currently lives in Maple Grove, Minnesota. She is planning to move to the Denver area in the near future.
Udo and Lidia both have musical training. Udo plays the piano, cello and guitar. Lidia also plays the piano and folk instruments. Udo doesn't just keep his musical gift to himself but he uses that gift for the glory of God. He founded the singing group "Ecclesiastes" in the early 80's for the youth. Between 1990 and 2002 they gave over 1,500 concerts, performing classical, folk and contemporary music, and created 9 CD's. They also distributed 800,000 copies of four books that were published and distributed by donations from their tours to the United States, Germany, Sweden, Great Britain, Canada, Latvia, and the Netherlands.
Udo was ordained into the Gospel ministry May 4, 1991. Since that time he has been a Senior Pastor, the President of the International Bible Society in Belarus, Vice President for Administration of the Belarus Conference, as well as Youth Director of the Belarus Conference. He speaks four languages: Latvian (his mother tongue), Russian, Ukrainian, and English.
